The Archive, located within the cloister of the Cathedral of San Zeno and accessible from Vicolo Sozomeno 3, is centrally located and easy to reach on foot or with public transportation. It is within Pistoia’s traffic limited zone, and thus not easily accessible by car.
It is possible to reach the Archive via:
train: Pistoia can be reached by train from stations along the Florence-Lucca-Viareggio line. Directions from the station:
walking (about 10 minutes): from the Station, follow Viale XX settembre and via Cino da Pistoia, turn right at Via Cavour and follow it to the intersection with Via Roma. Follow Via Roma to Via della Torre, along which you will find the entrance to the Archive in the second alley extending off to the left;
by bus (about 5 minutes): at the exit from the Station, take one of the following bus lines towards the center of Pistoia: line 1, 3 or M.

car: take the expressway A11 “Firenze – Mare” and exit at Pistoia. Follow signs for “centro storico” (the historic center); we suggest that you use one of the parking lots near the central zone of the city, as the Archive is located within the traffic limited zone.

Due to its central position and the monumental nature of the building in which hosts it, access to the Archive is difficult for disabled persons. Located within a traffic limited zone, on the first floor of a building found in a small alley way, the Archive unfortunately cannot be equipped with elevator access or handicap-accessible restrooms.
